Join us on February 15 for a panel featuring recent AGS graduates discussing their professional trajectories since graduation.
Robert “Bo” Carlson is a second-year MA student at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He graduated from Duke in 2020 and later served as the AGS Program Coordinator in the spring of 2021. Bo has worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the Organization of American States, and Albright Stonebridge Group. He has been published in World Politics Review and The National Interest, among other outlets.
Anna Klingensmith currently serves as a Program Associate for the Aspen Strategy Group at the Aspen Institute, providing an array of research, logistical, and administrative support for the team with a primary focus on the Aspen Security Forum. Prior to joining the Aspen Strategy Group, Anna worked as a Research Analyst in the Office of the Security Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Washington D.C., where she gained expertise in foreign policy and security matters relevant to the United States and the Middle East. Anna graduated from Duke University in 2021 with Honors and Distinction and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES). In her final year at Duke, Anna wrote two undergraduate Honors Theses exploring women’s roles in countering violent extremism (CVE) policy across the Middle East and Europe. She was raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Victoria Sorhegui currently serves as a Manager for Global Government Affairs at The Carlyle Group. She is based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Carlyle, Victoria was a Military Legislative Aide for Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) where she led the Senator’s national security policy portfolio. During her year and a half tenure on Capitol Hill, Victoria worked on a range of national security policy issues including navigating the Afghanistan withdrawal and passage of the FY 2021 and FY 2022 National Defense Authorization Act. Victoria received her B.A. in Political Science with Distinction from Duke University in 2021. Her undergraduate Honors Thesis explored the potential for arms control in the space domain. Victoria was raised in Naples, Florida.
