AGS provides students with opportunities to learn outside the classroom through student groups, staff rides, field trips, simulations, conferences and other grand strategy related activities.
AGS STUDENT COUNCIL
Council is a select group of students who help advise the Director about programming, curriculum, and assist by coordinating events such as career nights, activities fairs, and other mentoring opportunities.
SIMULATIONS & CONFERENCES
AGS students have the opportunity to take part in multi-day crisis simulations with faculty, experts and practitioners that mimic potential real world events. In these programs, participants are briefed on a national security scenario, assigned specific diplomatic, intelligence or defense related roles and challenged to work collaboratively on a solution.
The program is also fortunate to partner with other international security oriented programs, like the Center on Law, Ethics and National Security (LENS) and the Triangle Institute for Security Studies (TISS). Each spring, LENS and TISS host major national security conferences and colloquiums, which AGS students are invited to attend.
